One-way indicators or reusable transport monitoring
Transport monitoring – some examples
One-way shock indicators
Shockwatch
The simple sticker Shockwatch, is attached to the packaging. The Shockwatch sticker has a tiny glass tube filled with a liquid. If the G-level is exceeded, the surface tension breaks down and the liquid turns red. The glass tube is available in different diameters, which determine the sensitivity of the indicator.

Protect-A-Pak
Another great yet simple way to monitor goods can be created with the Protect-A-Pak. A one-way shock indicator that has 4 steel balls tensioned on springs. The springs are calibrated to withstand forces up to the “g” value of the unit.
If the impact is greater than the nominal value, at least one set of balls is released and falls into the transparent dome. Since balls and springs are offset by 90° from each other, any excessive force will displace at least one of the balls.

Tip-N-Tell
The TIP-N-TELL is another disposable indicator which you attach to the outside of the package. It indicates whether the item has been transported upright. A blue powder is moved to the side when tipped, and stays there.

Digi-Shock – Reusable shock indicator
One of the most sophisticated transport monitoring devices is the DIGI-SHOCK. It measures both impact and temperature and records them. Fully reusable and robust, with a long battery life, the DIGI-SHOCK records impacts of up to 100G and storage capacity for up to a million events. This transport monitoring device can be programmed according to customer requirements. The operating temperature range is from -40°F to 140°F. The DIGI-SHOCK has a battery life of 6 months and retains data even during a power failure. You can set the alarm for each axis individually. You can also set the alarm levels for both high and low temperatures
These are just a few examples of transport monitoring devices.
