HANDLING OF WEIGHTS
Training in the handling of weights on cranes
The safe securing of weights is crucial, as weights secured incorrectly pose a risk to both people and equipment.
This activity is classified as work involving particular hazards (VUV Art. 8) and may only be carried out by trained personnel.
The new Suva Factsheet 33099 comes into force on 1 January 2022. Companies are required to provide appropriate training for their slingers.
Requirements for slingers
- Minimum age: 18
- Physical and mental fitness
- Reliability and a sense of responsibility
- Clear communication with the crane operator
- Learners under the age of 18 only within the framework of the Training Regulations
